Caustic Soda, also known as Sodium Hydroxide, is an inorganic compound with the formula NaOH. It is an alkaline base that is highly soluble in water, available as both powder and solution.
Properties:
White odourless with bulk density 1.14 kg/m3, at 20°C, liquor solution 5-50%. Highly soluble in water. Readily absorbs moisture and CO2 from the air.
Common uses of Caustic Soda Liquor:
- Widely used in water treatment, manufacture of paper, textiles, drinking water treatment, as a pH regulator, in cleaning products such as soaps and detergents, drain treatments, degreasing agents and oven cleaners.
- In the agricultural industry it is a grain treatment and used in the production of soda grain.
